Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi talked about how the state had changed crisis into opportunity during the last 10 years. He also expressed his wish to serve the state and country even further on the basis of the experience that he has got in a decade of his government.

The CM was addressing around 2,500 villagers of Gunthawada and nearby villages on the occasion of inauguration of Asia's largest solar-based power plant of 30 MW. He started with development agenda and later turned the power crisis in Delhi into an opportunity to project Gujarat and its development.

"TV viewers and newspaper readers would know that many states of India including Delhi are in the dark because of power crisis. There is no power for a week now. Power stations are shutting down because of unavailability of coal. The country needs 10,000 MW of power in this crisis. Gujarat has taken initiatives in the area of renewable energy and today it is set to become the global capital of solar power generation producing 5,000 MW power in the years to come," he said.

Modi added that Gujarat had produced more power in the last 10 years than it had produced in 40 years prior to this decade. After this, as if he was appealing to the people, he said, "Ten years have passed in no time. When I took over as CM in 2001, I was new and didn't have knowledge about many things. But now I have got the experience, so while people think of taking a break in politics after 10 years, I want to work for the people and serve them in the time to come. I want to utilise my experience for the benefit of  society."

Talking about the Central government at Delhi Modi said, "When I asked someone how the government in New Delhi was run, I received a reply that there is no government in Delhi. Whole government at Delhi is either going to the court or the jail. I thank you people for your decision to choose this government, which works for development. Othewise the same issues would have been arisen here as well." Deepak Puri, chairman & managing director of Moser Baer India and Ratul Puri, chairman of Moser Baer Project talked about the solar power project. Fakir Vaghela, minister for social justice and empowerment, Parbat Patel, minister of state for health, Liladhar Vaghela, minister of state, along with MLAs of Banaskantha were present at the event.
