A young entrepreneur, chef and son of deputy commissioner, income tax department, Siddharth Brahmbhatt (27) died in a fatal accident in the wee hours of Thursday.

The youth died after his Pajero cartwheeled when a Maruti Baleno hit his car on the rear end.

The Baleno's driver escaped from the spot, while Brahmbhatt was declared dead by doctors when he was taken to Sola Civil Hospital.

Brahmbhatt was on his way back to Ahmedabad from Gandhinagar in the wee hours of Thursday and was passing through the Hebatpur Cross roads close to Sola over bridge when the incident happened.

Deputy commissioner, income tax department, Gautam Brahmbhatt has filed a police complaint with the Sola police station against the unknown car driver.

Sola police are investigating the matter. Senior police inspector, Sola police station, HM Kundaliya told DNA that the Baleno was coming from Hebatpur, while the Pajero was coming from Gandhinagar and former hit the Pajero on the rear end.

"Siddharth may have lost balance after the Baleno hit his car and his car went tumbling," said Kundaliya. Sources said that Siddharth's car took nearly three turns before it turned turtle killing him on the spot. Siddharth's body was taken to the Sola Civil Hospital for post mortem.

"It is a rule that any vehicle that enters a highway has to slow down. The Baleno driver did not bother to see the Pajero already in full speed on the highway," Kundaliya said.

Investigating officer, Sola police station, JM Vasava told DNA that the hunt to get hold of the absconding driver is on. However, police sources said that one Brijesh Prajapati was the alleged driver of the killer car.

Siddharth was a chef and a promising entrepreneur and was the only son of his parents. "He is a partner in one of the high-end restaurants on the SG Highway," a police source said.
