It was a wedding with a difference as a private hospital here was decked up to solemnise the wedding of one of its patients.

The groom, Pratuyush, was injured in a motorbike accident days before his wedding. He fractured his left leg and is recovering from a surgery, hospital sources said. It would take a few more months for him to heal completely.

When the hospital heard his marriage had been fixed for yesterday, doctors, nurses and other staff decided to make it a memorable day for the young couple.

Relatives and friends of the two families then decided to solemnise the wedding at the decided date itself and the ceremony was conducted at the hospital.

The first floor of the Specialist Hospital was converted into a wedding mandap with flowers and the groom was wheeled in on his wheelchair by his friends. The bride was then ushured in by hospital nurses and her relatives.

The marriage had been earlier fixed to be held at Mahadeva temple at Haripad Sunday.

The bride later said the mishap could have occurred any time and it was decided to solemnise the wedding at the auspicious time.
