Allahabad: Allahabad high court today disposed of a writ petition by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in connection with an FIR lodged at Etawah, accusing his supporters of unlawfully entering a polling booth during the Lok Sabha elections and misbehaving with officials on duty.

The order was passed by a division bench comprising justices Imtiyaz Murtaza and SS Tiwari after it was stated by the government advocate that investigation had already been completed in connection with the FIR and Yadav was not named in the charge sheet.

Earlier, on May 15, Yadav had obtained a stay on his possible arrest contending that though he was not named in the FIR, he feared that out of "political rivalry", the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh could place him behind the bars on the ground of his presence at the spot of the incident.

The FIR was lodged at Chaubai police station on 11th May when re-polling was held at some polling booths in Mainpuri constituency.
