HC to decide Purushottam Solanki’s fate on Sept 20

Justice RH Shukla of the Gujarat high court will pronounce an order on Thursday in regards to a petition filed by the state’s deputy fisheries minister, Purushottam Solanki, challenging the governor’s directions to initiate proceedings against him in a corruption case.

Governor Kamla Beniwal had sanctioned Solanki’s prosecution under ‘Prevention of Corruption Act’ for his involvement in a Rs400 crore scam. The governor had given her consent to prosecute Solanki in defiance of the advice given to her by the state’s council of ministers (CoM).
