Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced the setting up of 22 professional guidance units in Haryana with an aim to have at least one member employed in every household of the state.

"During my previous term, developmental works were carried out in every area without any discrimination, and this would continue in my present term also," Hooda said while redressing people's grievances at the Irrigation Rest House.

He said nearly 22 professional guidance units had been set up in Haryana to provide information about various employment avenues and assist the unemployed in selecting a profession in accordance with their capabilities and aptitude.

Besides these, private placement cells in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, Hisar, Panipat and Bahadurgah have been put up to make capable candidates available to entrepreneurs in the private sector, he said. The district employment offices have been computerised with internet connection, he added.

While redressing the grievances related to law-and-order situation, Hooda directed police officers to ensure justice to the victims and take immediate action against people engaged in anti-social activities.

Hooda said continuous improvement in the sex ratio for the last five years had been made possible through various incentive schemes launched by the state government for girls.

Hooda also spoke about the Indira Gandhi Vivah Shagun Yojna, a scheme is meant for marriage of daughters of people belonging to scheduled castes living below poverty line and widows of all sections of society.

The Haryana chief minister said the grant money under the scheme has been increased from Rs15,000 to Rs31,000 and the BPL families would get Rs11,000 instead of Rs5,100. The entire country must work in a missionary zeal to completely eliminate the heinous practice of female foeticide, he said.
