Expressing anguish over the killing of CRPF jawans by Naxals in Chhattisgarh, Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2.5 lakh each to two of the jawans hailing from his state.

In a condolence message to the bereaved families, Hooda said Haryana and the country were proud of their brave sons and their supreme sacrifice would always be remembered.

Describing the attack on the CRPF jawans by Naxals as "inhuman, brazen and cowardice act of anti-national elements," Hooda said the violence cannot be justified.

Condemning the attack, Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia expressed shock and sorrow over the cowardly killing of the CRPF personnel and said these acts were aimed at disturbing the peace and harmony of the country.

Among the 76 CRPF jawans killed in attack were Sandeep Singh and Pradeep Kumar, both natives of Bhiwani district in Haryana.
