Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda appreciated the Railway Budget presented by railway minister Mamata Banerjee today and thanked the UPA Government for accepting Haryana's demand to provide more facilities for the people of the state.

In a statement issued here, Hooda also appreciated the decision of not making a hike in the rail fare and raising Mahila Vahini for the security of women passengers.

"It was equally praiseworthy that ex-servicemen would be deployed to strengthen the Railway Protection Force", he said.

He also appreciated the proposed reduction of Rs 100 per wagon in freight charges for food-grains for domestic use and kerosene and that Ambala Cantt Railway Station has been identified to be a world class station and construction of Hisar junction and Sonipat as Multi-functional complexes.
   
He was all praise for improving health facilities in Haryana as the railway budget proposed the setting up of Outpatient Departments (OPD) and diagnostic centres at Bahadurgarh, Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jind, Kalka, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak and Sonipat.

In addition, Secondary-level General Speciality Hospitals will be set up at Ambala Cantt, Jind, Kurukshetra and Sonipat.

Also, tertiary-level multi-speciality hospital will be established at Rewari and the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana would be extended to all licensed porters, vendors and hawkers, who are from the unorganised sector and are socially challenged.
