Though officially all male MLAs and MPs of the state BJP are supporting the 33% women reservation bill passed by parliament, they are deeply worried about their own futures.

As per the 33% criteria, out of 182 assembly seats 61 seats will be reserved from next assembly election in 2012 and out of 26 seats nine seats in Lok Sabha election in 2014 will be reserved for women.

33% figures has created waves across political spectrum of the state. On Tuesday many MLAs were seen discussing and counting their chances of losing seats to a women, everyone was eager to know about their possible chance. Many were even seen counting their chance according to the present formula of alphabetical order with addition of seven in all the panchayat seats. However senior MLAs, MPs and political bigwigs were clueless about the possible implementation of the bill.

A senior MLA said, "there is no clarity on the formula of deciding women reservation seats. There can be various methods like simple method of considering every third seat reserved for women in rotation or adopting the present method used in panchayat women reservation or there may be a formula on the basis of Lok Sabha seats etc., but all this will be cleared only after the announcement of the rules followed by the bill. Other provisions of the bill are also not clear yet."
