Trouble may not end any time soon for Gujarat University vice-chancellor Dr Parimal Trivedi. Just a day after getting bail in the atrocity case and resuming work, Trivedi faced another inquiry in the corruption charges against him. This time officials from the Commissionerate of Higher Education visited the varsity on Thursday to start their inquiry.

Sources close to the development said that an official, MH Khuman, reached the GU office around noon. During his two-hour stay at the GU headquarters, he demanded a few important documents related to the charges of corruption cases against the VC.

However, it is said that two university officials and a GU professor left with important documents around 4pm. Officials from the state department left around 2pm. Sources say, with the education department looking for evidence against Trivedi, he might have to face another tough situation.

The corruption cases against the V-C include misuse of development fund and usage of fixed deposits of the GU.

Meanwhile, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) representatives on Thursday wrote a letter to the state governor Dr Kamla and demanded resignation of the 'tainted' GU V-C.
