Around 10,000 workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party's youth wing will march to New Delhi to join the party's parliament gherao programme on August 9.

The BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has organised the programme to protest against the corruption in the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.

Meanwhile, Anurag Thakur, national president of BJP's youth wing and Himachal MP will address a convention on June 25 at Vadodara as part of a nationwide protest against corruption.

Talking to mediapersons in Ahmedabad on Friday, Thakur said that BJP's youth wing will gherao parliament on the issue of corruption in the UPA government. "We have selected August 9, the day Gandhiji started the Quit India movement, to throw the corrupt government out of power," said Thakur.

Around 10,000 youth BJP workers from the state will participate in the parliament gherao programme, which will have youth workers from all over the country, said Pradipsinh Vaghela, president of Gujarat BJYM.

Thakur slammed All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Rahul Gandhi for protesting in the interest of farmers but not participating in any debate in the Lok Sabha in the last two years. "If he (Rahul) and his party are really interested in farmers' issues, then what has stopped them from passing the farmer's bill pending with the government for seven years," said Thakur.
