The government will soon table in Parliament the controversial Ranganath Mishra Commission report, which has reportedly recommended reservation for minorities and SC status to Dalits.

Parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, however, did not specify the date for tabling the report. The winter session of Parliament is concluding on December 21.

Opposition members have been insisting that the government table the report along with action taken report (ATR) before long.

Government sources, however, said since Ranganath Mishra Commission was not constituted under the Commission of Enquiry Act, there is no necessity for submitting an ATR with it.
