These conferences have proved to be very useful in creating awareness in service providers dealing with IT and have helped as a useful forum in which new initiatives of various states and central government in IT are explored, he said.

The focus of this year's conference is "ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in education- enhancing quality and reach" and topics like e-governance, leveraging mobile technology for better service delivery and public distribution system with direct access to citizens through e-governance will be discussed.

The theme for the conference this year is "e-governance from citizen's perspective" which will explore the use of ICT transforming governance from the perspective of beneficiaries
