Kottayam: The government was trying to 'interfere' in temple administration on the pretext of fighting corruption, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala has alleged.

Such 'interference' in religious matters expecially in temple administration would lead to a dangerous situation, he said, flagging off a rally in connection with the two-day conference of Travancore Devaswam Employees Front which began here yesterday.

He stressed the need for making Devaswam administration more efficient.

Front president Chavara Gopakumar urged government to withdraw the Travancore Cochin Hindu religious Institution (Amendment) Bill, 2007.
