As the advertising and media players pulled up their sleeves to host the fifth edition of Goa Fest, a festival by advertising fraternity, at Cavelossim beach, 45 kms away from Panaji, state's main
opposition party accused the festival as the potential place
for pushing drugs.

"The festivals like this attract lot of drug cartels indirectly who come to such venues for drug pushing,"  leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar told media persons in Panaji.

The organizers at the venue, however, rubbished the allegations claiming the festival as gathering of hardworking professionals. The event beginning from tomorrow is organised by Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and Ad Club Mumbai.

The sandy shores of Cavelossim, a picturesque beach in South Goa, is housing this festival being held by erecting air-conditioned dome like structure on the beach.

The organisers expect 3,000-odd delegates to participate in the festival, that will be kicked off tomorrow, April 09.

Parrikar addressing the media in the state capital said that such a festival is a potential look out spot for the drug peddlers who are active on Goa's shores.
