Goa's Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Shantaram Naik has demanded a fair share for Muslims in recruitment in various sector including police department.
"People of minority communities, including Muslims, must get a fair share in the recruitment in police department, civil administration, banks, railways and public sector enterprises if the prime minister's 15-point programme is to be effectively implemented," Naik, state’s Rajya Sabha MP, said while addressing a gathering in South Goa yesterday.
Naik who was the chief guest at a function organised by the Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats at Panaji on Sunday, further said that 15-point programme of the prime minister also provides for better loan facilities, specially in priority sectors to the Muslim minorities and that it provides for establishment of Industrial Training Institutes in
predominantly inhabited by minority communities.
"Further, it provides for upgrading the technical skills of the members of this community to enhance their earning capabilities," he added.
