In a suspected honour killing case, a girl and a boy were allegedly murdered by the girl's family, who were opposed to their alliance in village Gari Madhiya, police said.

Distant cousins Ishtiyak Ali, 21, and Shabnam, 16, were in love.

On Saturday, Ali went to meet Shabnam. Later, the girl and the boy were found dead.

However, parents of the girl claimed that Shabnam was shot dead by Ali, who later committed suicide.

The post mortem report of the boy suggest that he was hit by a bullet in his head from behind, superintendent of police (rural) MM Beg said, adding it seems to be a murder case. He also suspect it to be a case of honour killing.

Mushtiyak Ali, father of the boy, has alleged in his FIR that his son, working as a helper at the girl's family shop, and Shabnam were shot dead by the girl's parents as their were against their relationship.

A murder case has been registered against the father and other members of the girl's family for killing Ali, Beg said.
