Ghaziabad ourt orders investigation into alleged fake encounter

A local court today ordered police to re-investigate an alleged fake encounter case in which two youths were shot dead, here today.

Rahis (20)and Firoj (21) were allegedly killed by the police in an encounter at a market near here on March 3, 2009.

The family of the victims registered a complaint against policeman Jitender Kalra and other cops of Indirapuram police station, claiming the encounter was fake.

The case was, however, was later closed by the police, citing lack of evidence against the accused, forcing the family to move to the court.

The court today directed the police to re-open the case and probe into the matter.
