The CBI team investigating the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case will have to wait for a few more days to question the Rajkot police commissioner, Geetha Johri, and retired IPS officer OP Mathur, together. Mathur is currently the director-general of Raksha Shakti University. Johri had gone to the UK recently and had returned to Gujarat a few days back.

In a communication to the CBI, Johri has reportedly said that as the police commissioner of Rajkot, she has to spend a lot of time overseeing the preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. The state's official Independence Day celebrations this year will be held in Rajkot where chief minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag.

She has been summoned by the CBI for questioning in connection with the tampering of evidence that allegedly took place when she was posted as inspector-general of CID (crime). She has already appeared once before the probe agency.

She may appear before the CBI after August 15 along with Mathur who will also be called for questioning. The investigating agency is all set to question both the officers together as Mathur had allegedly shifted the blame on Johri for tampering of the evidence submitted by IPS officer Rajneesh Rai.

Mathur is currently on a religious trip to Kailash Mansarovar (in China) and is expected to return after a few days. Before he left for Mansarovar, Mathur was questioned by CBI sleuths. He is reported to have said that he was not aware of the mischief done in the CID's investigation of the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

Meanwhile, former Gujarat director-general of police, PC Pande, is expected to appear before the CBI on Tuesday in response to the summons issued earlier.
