Gastroenteritis today claimed the life of a 11-year-old boy and about 100 people have been hospitalised at Chicholi Taluk government hospital, a health official said.
The boy hailed from Kondavara thanda, a hamlet in Chincholi taluk, the officials said.
The epidemic has broken out in the hamlets of Rommanagudi, Korajit, Ramanagara and Dejalmadi from where more than 100 persons have been rushed to Chincholi hospital.
Medical teams have been deployed in the affected hamlets to take preventive measures, the officials said.
