Maoist leader Venkateswar Reddy alias Telegu Dipak was today remanded in police custody for another 14 days by a city court.
The ACJM Alipore remanded the close aide of Kishenji on a plea by the CID counsel following Reddy's completion of a two-week police remand, on the ground that he needed to be interrogated further on his role in attacks on police and Maoist activities in different parts of the country.
Stringent security arrangement was made with commandos bringing Dipak from Andhra Pradesh and who had been active in Nandigram to court.
Dipak was arrested from the southern fringes of the metropolis on March two by CID. He has been charged with several cases of murder, waging war against the state and under the Arms Act among others.
