French national attempts suicide, jumps off railway station building

A French national allegedly attempted suicide by jumping off the railway building here, seriously injuring himself.

Max Bony (35) climbed up the stairs to the first floor of the Gorakhpur railway station building yesterday and jumped off the railing, the GRP said today.

He was badly hurt and has been admitted to BRD Medical College hospital.

A French passport and visa, valid up to October 5, has been recovered from him, they said.

Bony was also carrying several medicines and police suspect that he was a drug addict.

The French Embassy in New Delhi has been informed about the incident, they said.
