Jammu: A French army delegation, including experts in the field of counter-terrorism, today wrapped up its six-day visit to Northern Command's battle schools in Jammu and Kashmir as part of an exercise in defence cooperation and exchanges with India.
The finer aspects of battle craft and tactical drills followed by the troops to cope with the challenges of insurgency in the state were demonstrated before the French military officials during their visit to these training centres in Rajouri and Srinagar districts, a Northern Command spokesman said.
The presentations included the methodology of conducting people-friendly counter terrorism operations to ensure least collateral damage, he said.
The French delegation was also briefed about various other functional, training and administrative aspects of these schools during the visit which began on November 16, he said.
