Four middle-aged men were killed and 18 others injured as a truck rammed into a tempo carrying fishermen to the beach at Punnapra near here today.
The speeding truck rammed into the rear part of the tempo which had slowed down to negotiate a curve, killing four persons on the spot, police said.
The injured had been admitted to hospitals.
The tempo was taking fishermen to the beach for the day's work.
