Four arrested for smuggling drugs in Jammu

Police intercepted two persons - Harvinder Singh alias Raju of Samba and Shah Nawaz of Kulgam in Kashmir- and recovered from them 5kg of cannabis in Nanke Chak area of Samba district.

Four persons have been arrested after cannabis and poppy were found in their possession in Samba and Kathua districts, police said today.
 
Police intercepted two persons - Harvinder Singh alias Raju of Samba and Shah Nawaz of Kulgam in Kashmir- and recovered from them 5kg of cannabis in Nanke Chak area of Samba district, 55km from here, last night, they said.
 
A case has been registered.
 
In another case, police arrested two persons and recovered ten 10kg of poppy packed in apple boxes in their truck at Lakhanpur Toll Post, 90km from here.
 
They have been identified as Kuldeep Singh of Hoshiarpur and Sandeep Kumar of Gurdaspur, they said, adding a case has been registered in this regard.
 
Meanwhile, special operation group of police have arrested two suspected sympathisers of militants.
 
Acting on intelligence inputs, SOG arrested Mohammad Azim and Zubair Ahmed and recovered two packets of some drug from them, they said adding the substance has been sent for testing to a laboratory.
