Former mayor arrested in Rajkot

Ashok Dangar, the former mayor of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has been arrested in connection with a group clash in Rajkot on Thursday. Dangar and his six accomplices including his two sons and two nephews were booked by Bhaktinagar police, after a group clash last night in Kothariya road area of the city, police said.

Sikandar Thasariya was injured seriously in the clash and after being treatment his condition was stated to be normal, they said. The clash occurred on financial dispute led the Dangar group to attack opposition, police said adding the former mayor has been arrested on basis of complaint lodged by Sikandar with the Bhaktinagar police. Search is on to nab his accomplices, police said.
