Forensic Science Laboratory and Forensic Science University jointly will train as many as 30 senior Indian forest services (IFS) officers responsible to conserve the endangered species especially tiger, in the forests of the country.
"This will be a five-day training programme to be started on Feb 22, and will be focused mainly on wildlife crime management," director, DFS, Gandhinagar, JM Vyas told DNA. Vyas said apart from senior officials from the country, officials from Gujarat will also take part in the training programme.
The training has been organised by Tiger Conservation Authority of India especially to focus on conservation of Tigers. "The focus of the training will be mainly on the aspects used to conserve the animals and on precautionary measures to eradicate wildlife crimes in the country," a source told DNA. Aspects related to wildlife crimes like DNA fingerprinting, toxicology, methods of conservation and preservation, etc. will be covered. "The officers will be exposed to everything that could help to solve wildlife crime," the source said.
The training will run through to February 26.
In another statement, the Forensic Science Laboratory, Gandhinagar says lot of similarity between explosives used in Pune and Ahmedabad.
The FSL which is analysing the content and explosives used in the Pune blast have primarily said that there are a lot of similarities between the Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) used in Ahmedabad and Pune blasts.
The circuits used to blast the LPG cylinders in the car parked in civil hospital and the one used in the German Bakery are very similar. However, no official confirmed this on record.
Small LPG cylinders were used in Ahmedabad civil hospital blasts, while there was one cylinder along with other explosives used in Pune blasts. The FSL has to submit its final report to National Investigative Agency. FSL had been intimated by NIA to give its expertise in the analysis of the bomb blast and its content.
Primarily, the analysis had also confirmed that RDX, ammonium nitrate and detonators were also used in the Pune blast.
