How did 46-year-old Dhruv Parni kill herself using a revolver ? What was the distance from which the bullet was fired? These are just some of the questions that the Satellite police have asked the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). The FSL report in the case is likely to be received tomorrow by the police.
Satellite police officials said that many more questions including the circumstances in which the revolver was used and the manner in which it was used, have been posed before the FSL.
Officials said that the FSL report is expected to throw more light on the incident. They have however ruled out the possibility that Parni was murdered.
Sources said that this has been substantiated by the reaction of the husband and daughter of Parni when the gun shots were heard. "For one, the daughter of the deceased Surabhi ran out and informed the neighbours that her mother had shot herself and that she needed help. This substantiates the report that Parni had committed suicide," an official said.
Satellite police officials have already recorded the statements of Surabhi who told the police that her mother had shot herself.
The police have recovered 25 items from the house including the clothes of the victim, revolver and other items. Satellite police inspector HB Jamod said, "We have recovered 25 items as evidence from the house. Things will become clearer when the FSL report comes in. We have focused on all angles as far as the investigation is concerned."
Parni's husband Surendra had issued some cheques to his clients in the name of his wife. However, the cheques bounced because of which cases were filed against Dhruv in Banswada, Kishangadh and Bhilwada in Rajasthan and also in Ahmedabad. The couple used to have frequent tiffs over the issue.
On Saturday night, Parni told her husband at her Satellite residence that she was not going to be present in court after she received a summons from a court in Rajasthan. At around 1 am Dhruv Parni shot herself.
