Expressing concern over many Indian fishermen inadvertently entering into Pakistani waters and sometimes getting arrested, security agencies have appealed fishermen to be more alert and not stray out of Indian water territory.

The security agencies held a meeting at Porbander on Sunday with representatives of fishermen's associations to discuss the issue of fishermen tending to cross Indian waters.

President of the Porbandar Boat Association Heeralal Shiyal said that fishermen cross Indian water territory despite having Global Positioning System (GPS) in their boats either because they do not use the system properly or ignore the signal received from the system adding henceforth the fishermen would be asked to use the system properly to avoid the arrest.
