Earlier:

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy Wednesday submitted to the Supreme Court documents demonstrating what he alleges is the involvement of home minister P Chidambaram as the then finance minister in deciding the second generation (2G) spectrum pricing.

Swamy presented the documents before the apex court bench of Justice GS Singhvi and Justice AK Ganguly hearing his plea for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into Chidambaram's role in the scam.

Swamy presented a note from Pranab Mukherjee's finance ministry to the Prime Minister's Office questioning Chidambaram's role in the 2G scam.

Swamy's argument through the note is that Chidambaram sent a note to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him not to treat the spectrum allocation 'closed'.

Chidambaram agreed to keep the 2001 spectrum fees for 2008 licences, it is claimed.

Swamy said the note showed that had Chidambaram said no, A Raja's nod to do the same would have been cancelled.
