Fire erupts in Kanpur apartment

Tensions prevailed in the city, when fire engulfed an apartment and it took almost six hours for the fire brigade personnel to douse the flames. No casualty has been reported so far.

According to fire brigade officials, at around 2.00pm, fire erupted at a beauty parlour, which then spread to entire Ratna apartment.

They said that six fire tenders were pressed into service and it took them almost six hours to control the flames adding that initial reports indicate that fire erupted due to short-circuit.

Police is meanwhile investigating into the reasons of fire, they said.
