Farooq Abdullah hospitalised, discharged, says 'I am young'

The Union minister for new and renewable energy, was on his way to Kala Kendra to attend a function in Vikram Chowk area of Jammu, when he suffered a bout of vomiting.

Union minister Farooq Abdullah was today hospitalised here after suffering a bout of vomiting but was discharged after three hours.

Abdullah, 73, Union minister for new and renewable energy, was on his way to Kala Kendra to attend a function in Vikram Chowk area of the city when he suffered a bout of vomiting. He was rushed to Gandhi Nagar hospital, officials said.

Some tests were conducted on Abdullah, doctors attending on him said adding he was put on drip immediately.

The condition of Abdullah is stable, they said.

Emerging from the hospital after his discharge, Abdullah, when asked about his health, told reporters that "I had bout of vomiting and went to the hospital for a check-up".

Flanked by his son and J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah, the senior Abdulah said "I'm still young and healthy".

Chief minister Omar Abdullah, who had flown to Srinagar from Jammu after addressing the function, returned here to see his father.
