The Gandhidham police busted an international racket of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) and arrested three people, two of them from Bihar. The police have seized 50 FICN of Rs500 denomination.

The racket reportedly has a Nepal connection. The FICN were smuggled to Gandhidham from Nepal through Bihar and were distributed in the markets of the city. The police arrested Shivshankar Mukhiya with the FICN from Gandhidham and have also arrested his subordinates from Bihar.

"A police team has been sent to Bihar where two people Bachasha Kanu and Raghu Mukhiya have been arrested," LD Vagadia told DNA. Vagadia is the one who caught onto the racket. He further said that the accused would soon reveal more names of people connected to this international racket.

Vagadia told DNA on the phone that the quality of the FICN is 'professional' and it is almost impossible to identify the fake notes with naked eyes. "The symbol of RBI on the strip is perfect and the colour marks are accurate as well," he said.

Vagadia said that the notes can only be identified by ultraviolet light. "The notes were smuggled in Gujarat from Nepal and the kingpin of the entire racket seems to be in Nepal," he said.

The two accused arrested from Bihar will be questioned by Gandhidham cops and more names will be revealed, the police said.
