GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) received the award in the category of Multi Stakeholder Partnership as part of the NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours 2012 (NSIH).
GVK EMRI CEO Subodh Satyawadi received the award on February 14 from Kapil Sibal, Union minister for human resource development, at a function held at a hotel in Mumbai.
On receiving the award, Satyawadi said, “It is a proud moment for all EMRItes. We re-dedicate this award to our team for attending 30 million emergencies and saving one million lives annually. We thanks NASSCOM for appreciating our work and also thank the millions of people across India for using this service.”
Satyawadi also thanked the state governments for partnering with them as well as the company chairman, Padma Bhushan Dr GVK Reddy, for his philanthropy and support for the mission to save lives.Currently, GVK EMRI provides 108 emergency response services in 11 states covering a population of about 40 crore with a fleet of 3,150 ambulances. So far 1.70 crore emergencies have been catered to.
