Elderly couple killed by nephews in Gumla on charges of witchcraft

A man and his wife were killed allegedly by their nephews after being accused of practising witchcraft at Asni village of Gumla district, the police said today.

Fateh Oraon, 60, and his wife Champu Devi, 55 were pinned down by three of their nephews and their throats were slit open by sharp weapons last night, the police said here.

The accused were identified as Etwa Oraon, Kishun Oraon and Hari Oraon, the police said.

Etwa was arrested while the other two were absconding.
