Efforts are on to arrest expelled BSP leader: Uttar Pradesh police

The police said it is trying to nab the expelled BSP leader and former vice-chairman of UP forest corporation, Vinod Tejiyan, who is absconding since an FIR was registered against him for disrupting rail traffic.

Uttar Pardesh police today said it is trying to nab the expelled BSP leader and former vice-chairman of UP forest corporation Vinod Tejiyan, who is absconding since an FIR was registered against him for disrupting rail traffic.

According to police, Tejiyan was arrested yesterday in Saharanpur after he was booked under Railways Act by RPF for disrupting rail traffic but was later released on bail.

However, GRP lodged a separate FIR against him, special DG law and order Brijlal said, adding that Tejiyan was booked under various section of IPC including 7 criminal law amendment act.

The official said he is wanted in these cases and the force is trying to arrest him.

After his arrest yesterday, Tejiyan was expelled from the BSP and his Minister of State status was withdrawn.

Tejiyan along with others took out a procession under the banner of Dalit Aarakshan Bachao Sangharsh Samiti and stopped Dehradun-Bandra Express. They also blocked railway traffic for more than two hours in Saharanpur.
