Chennai: Dutch national William Heum, accused of uploading child pornography on the internet, was remanded in 15 days judicial custody on Wednesday by the XI metropolitan magistrate's court at Saidapet after police claimed they had enough evidence to nail him in the case. Heum, however, denied the charge outside the court.

"No, of course not... I didn't do anything... you talk to my lawyer... he knows," Heum told reporters after public prosecutor M Ratna Kumar claimed the Dutch had confessed to "having sex with minor boys", "storing child pornography on his computer" and "later uploading the same" on the internet. Heum also said he had had enough of India and wanted to return to his native The Netherlands.

"After the completion of custodial interrogation, he was produced before the court. The magistrate has remanded him in 15 days judicial custody. William did confess to having affairs with boys. He also confessed that he stored child pornography in his computer and later uploaded it. He admitted he is guilty. He was living alone and had sex with boys. He confessed," Ratna Kumar said.

The 56-year-old, who was running an orphanage, Little Home, at Mahabalipuram, about 60km from Chennai, since 1995, was arrested on November 9 after UK-based Child Exploitation Online Protection Centre alerted Interpol, which in turn contacted Chennai Police. His bail plea is expected to be heard on Thursday.

Pornographic CDs and incriminating documents were recovered from Heum's Ponnusamy Vathiyar Street, Choolaimedu, Nungambakkam, residence, after which he was sent in three days police custody on Monday.

His lawyer claimed he was being "framed" by his "enemies" in his home country as he was getting a lot of aid from The Netherlands for the orphanage.
