Nanded: "There are two to three members of the gang, including the kingpin, roaming in Ahmedabad who are involved in land deals of the city as well looting of aangadias," police inspector, Local Crime Branch, Kheda, VJ Jadeja told DNA.

Jadeja was talking about the gang arrested on Thursday who are allegedly members of the Chhota Rajan gang in Mumbai. The police strongly believe that the five arrested persons have a connection with the underworld.

Jadeja told DNA that the police have come across three to four names who were active in many illegal activities in the city. "They are involved in illegal land deals as well as major robberies of aangadia personnel here," he said.

The police are in the process of investigating the land deals conducted by the gang. "We will get more leads once the absconders are arrested," the source said.

However, the police have refused to comment whether the crimes were committed on behalf of any underworld gang of Mumbai. "During investigations, we found no definite leads in that direction," Himanshu Shukla, DSP, Nadiad, told reporters in Nadiad.
