The DMK will wait for the Supreme Court observation on the 2G spectrum allocation and telecom minister A Raja's role in it tomorrow before taking any decision on the minister's continuation in the Union cabinet.

Sources said the general view in the party was that no decision should be taken just because opposition parties, particularly BJP and AIADMK, are raising the issue.

"The party's leaders feel that no decision should be taken before the Supreme Court makes its observations on the 2G spectrum allocation tomorrow," the sources said.

They also noted that it will be the first observation on the case by the apex court after the department of telecommunication filed an affidavit on Thursday.

"If the Supreme Court makes any adverse remark against Raja or his ministry then a decision on his continuance can be considered," the sources said.

Some leaders in the party also feel that any decision should be withheld in regard to the CAG report -- in which the country's top auditor has reportedly indicted Raja -- before the report is tabled in Parliament.

They feel that a decision on the minister's continuance cannot be taken merely on the basis of media reports and demand from opposition parties.
