Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today demanded a probe into the properties of yoga guru Baba Ramdev and said that action should be taken against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

"Probe should conducted into the properties of Baba Ramdev and action should be taken against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act," Singh, who arrived here to take part in the Jebera assembly by-poll campaign in neighbouring Damoh district, told reporters.

"Baba Ramdev is a fraud and I don't consider him as a saint. I also don't consider his close associate Balkrishana as acharya," he said.

He said that both, the Right to Information Act (RTI) as well as the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, were introduced during the Congress regime and added that discussion on the Lokpal Bill is also going on under the same government.

He also demanded a probe into the properties of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani, as Singh claimed that Rohani not only possessed "black money", but also has accounts in the "foreign banks".

Singh also criticised the state chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for re-inducting Ajay Bishnoi into the ministry, "despite the fact that he was removed from the Cabinet on the allegations of corruption against him."

The senior Congress leader also claimed that during his ten-year tenure as the MP chief minister, stern measures were taken against the corrupt.
