Strongly criticising Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for describing MPs in a derogatory manner, Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Thursday said that people like Ramdev are trying to attack the democratic system of the country with an aim to establish dictatorship.

"The intention of Ramdev is to finish the democratic system of the country and establish dictatorship. If they want to change the system, they should either contest the polls or field those persons whom they consider are good," Singh told reporters at his ancestral Raghogarh town.

"They don't like democratic system and therefore are attacking it," he remarked, adding he had been highlighting the black deeds of Ramdev for long.

The Congress leader asked Ramdev to reveal how much money he had spent on purchasing 100 acre land in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh and how much amount he had shown in the registry papers for that land.

"This will reveal his honesty," he said.

He also alleged that Enforcement Directorate had served a notice on Ramdev in connection with selling of medicines worth Rs 100 crore in foreign countries while in an another case, the Sales Tax Department served a notice on him for Rs70 crore.

Singh also alleged that Ramdev has encroached on farmers land in Uttarakhand.

Referring to the President's election, he said that Congress has initiated the dialogue process with all the parties on the issue and will soon take an appropriate decision in the matter.

On the issue of nominating master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar to the Rajya Sabha, he said that Presidential nomination in such cases is appropriate and there is no substance in BJP's criticism in this regard.

When asked whether he would tour the state jointly with the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Guna MP, Jyotiraditya Scindia, in the interest of the Congress as proposed by the Guna district Congress Committee, he said that he would welcome such an initiative and has no objection to such programmes.

Singh arrived here to take part in the convocation ceremony tomorrow of JP Group's technical college.
