Deputy speaker's daughter injured in Manipur grenade blast

The daughter of Manipur deputy speaker TT Haokip was injured when militants hurled a grenade here today.

Thangkhoi Haokip, the 18-year-old daughter of the deputy speaker was injured in the grenade blast at his residence, official sources said.

An unidentified militant was also killed in an encounter with Asam Rifles personnel of 28th battalion at Waithou Chiru in Thoubal district in the early hours. 

A 9 mm pistol with ammunition were seized from him, the sources said.
