A 19-year-old student of Delhi University was kidnapped from the national capital and allegedly raped by five persons in a flat in Gurgaon, police said today.

The victim, who is pursuing a BA correspondence course from Dayal Singh College, was forced into a car by the men at around 8am on Sunday from near a bus stop where she was waiting for a bus.

Two of the accused were known to the girl as they are her neighbours. The incident came to light yesterday morning after the girl's family approached police.

According to a senior police official, the girl was waiting for a bus near Bijwasan when two of her neighbours reached there in a car and started talking to her.

"The girl knew them and after some time, the duo offered her a lift in their car which she refused. She was then forced
into the car," the official said.

The girl told police that she was taken to a flat in Gurgaon where three others were waiting for them.

They allegedly locked her in a room, the official said adding, they raped her one after another.

"After a few hours, they again raped her and later abandoned near her house in the evening," the official said.

The girl then reached her house and narrated the incident to her parents.

After the parents approached police, the official said, the girl was taken to a hospital where a medical examination confirmed sexual assault.

A case of rape was registered against five persons, including Rishi and Sonu, the neighbours, Chunmun and Vikas.

The identity of the fifth person was yet to be ascertained by police.

The official said a manhunt has been launched to nab the five.

A boy was detained following her complaint but was later released after the girl told them that he was not the one who had raped her.

Further investigations into the matter are on.
