Delhi serial blasts: Fresh production warrants issued by court

A court here today issued a fresh production warrant against 11 suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists, accused of carrying out serial blasts in the capital on December 13 last year after the Gujarat police failed to produce them.

Chief metropolitan magistrate Kaveri Baweja sought the presence of the accused, who are at present lodged in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad, for their alleged role in the serial blasts of July 26 last year there, before the court on November 26.

Out of the 12 accused arrested so far in the five separately registered cases, Mohd Hakim was produced before the court which remanded him to judicial custody till November 26. Among the accused, Mohd Saif is also wanted in Jaipur serial blasts cases.

A series of blasts had rocked the national capital on September 13 last year, killing 26 persons and injuring 135.

Accused Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Mohd Shakeel, Zia-ur Rehman, Saquib Nissar, Quamuddin Kapadia, Mohd Sadiq Sheikh, who have been chargesheeted in blasts cases here, are in Ahmedabad.

Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, Mobin Kader Sheikh, Akbar Ismail Chaudhary and Asif Basir Sheikh, who are accused of sending terror emails to different media houses just minutes before the serial blasts, have also been taken to Ahmedabad.

A total of five cases were registered following the blasts and the police has already filed chargesheets.
