The Delhi high court has upheld the conviction of a former MCD official by a trial court which sentenced him to two and half years of imprisonment for demanding a bribe of Rs1500 to issue licence for tailoring to a man in 1995.

Upholding the trial court's order, Justice Rajiv Shakdher said "I am of the opinion that the judgement of the trial court convicting the appellant has to be sustained. It is ordered accordingly".

Justice Shakdher has cancelled the bail bond and personal sureties furnished by RPS Yadav before the trial court at the time of obtaining the bail.

While dismissing the appeal filed by Yadav challenging the conviction, the high court directed the police to take him immediately into judicial custody.
