The judicial custody of suspected militants Wasim Akram Malik and Amir Abbas Dev, arrested for their alleged involvements in the September 7 blast in the Delhi High Court premises, was extended on Monday by a court in Delhi for another 14 days.

Special NIA judge HS Sharma extended the custody of Malik and Dev in an in-camera court proceeding till January 2, 2012 on a plea by the National Investigation Agency that the probe into the blast, which killed 15 people and injured 70, was still going on.

After closing down on Saturday for winter vacation, the trial courts will reopen on January 2.

Malik and Dev were produced before the court after the expiry of their judicial custody.

Court sources said the judge kept pending Malik's plea for permission to visit Bangladesh, where he was studying Unani medicine before his arrest, to fill an examination form.

During the last hearing, the court had asked Malik to fill the form from Tihar jail itself with help from his relatives.

The investigating agency has said that Malik is a 'key link' in the conspiracy behind the blast outside gate number 5 of the high court.
