Prosecutors say a DNA investigation of bloodstained clothes and body swabs has linked all five men and a juvenile accused of the gang-rape and murder of to the crime, providing evidence the prosecution claims will be enough to convict them.
The defense counsel for two of the accused in the Delhi gang-rape case of December 16, 2012, AP Singh, has demanded a bone ossification test for one of his clients, Vinay Sharma, who claims to be a juvenile, saying it is critical to pin down the exact age for a fair trial.
Talking to reporters outside the Saket Court here on Thursday, Singh said the test is imperative to prove his client's age, since he does not possess a birth certificate.
"He has no birth certificate, which is either issued by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) or any municipal council. So, as per the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, the bone ossification test needs to be conducted for a fair trial to prove his juvenility," said Singh.
The bone test report would be out on January 28.
Singh reposed faith in the judiciary and the system, saying there is no need to transfer the case out of Delhi.
"I don't want the case to be transferred out of New Delhi. We have full faith on the judiciary, the judges, the system, Delhi government, public prosecutor and the police. The trial is being carried out in a proper manner," he said.

The 23-year-old victim was raped by six people and brutally tortured and thrown out of a moving bus on the night of December 16.
Because the victim died of he injuries in Singapore's hospital thirteen days after the attack, the five accused have been charged with murder and face the death penalty if found guilty.
