Delhi's showcase Airport Express Metro will launch free feeder bus service at one of its busiest stations from Wednesday, benefitting hundreds of commuters who use the corridor regularly.

The service will be available at the Shivaji Stadium station located in the heart of the capital. Three buses will ply in the initial days.

The feeder bus service will cover a distance of 5 km and will cover Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, YMCA, Jantar Mantar, Tolstoy Marg, KG Marg crossing, Hans Plaza, Barakhamba Road crossing and Hotel Lalit flyover.

With a capacity to carry 50 passengers, the bus will cover the entire distance in 40 minutes. The service will be free of cost.

"Based on the feedback of commuters travelling on Reliance Airport Metro, and after studying locations of various offices in Connaught Place, we identified the feeder bus route that will provide seamless connectivity to commuters going to Connaught Place for work," Lalit Jalan, CEO, Reliance Infrastructure, said.

Reliance Infra, whose consortium runs the corridor, is also planning to provide feeder bus connectivity at other Airport Metro stations.

"Talks are already on with DMRC and DTC for providing the feeder service connectivity," he said.

The feeder buses will be available between 08:00am-10:00am and between 5:00pm to 8:00pm and in service to match the train frequency of 15 minutes. The service will be available on week days.
