Deep Purple to perform in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Bangalore will witness one of the biggest live concerts ever as Deep Purple will enthrall it with their unique genre of sophisticated rock on December 17.

Fresh from their South American tour, Deep Purple, one of the world's first bands to fuse classical and rock music, chose Bangalore as their only city in Asia to present a live performance.

It promises to be a world-class event with an amazing stage and high-powered spectacular sound with dazzling lights. It will relive a classic performance of the best of Purple songs. The tour will feature some of the band's most popular tracks, including their classics Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, Fireball, Black Night Woman from Tokyo and Hush.

The band was formed in 1968, but gained global prominence especially after the release of the 1970's hit Deep Purple in Rock.

Deep Purple consists of Ian Gillian, the band's vocalist, Steve Morse, the guitarist, Roger Glover, the bassist and producer. Don Airey will man the keyboard and Ian Paice will be the drummer.

The performance will he held at Cathedral School here.
