Five members of a Dalit family, including a woman, were allegedly beaten up by the gram pradhan and his relatives, on charges of casting vote to a rival in the panchayat elections, police said here today.
 
The incident took place yesterday at Silajuddi village when Ramswaroop, his wife Prakashi and their three sons -Rakesh, Shivam and Sandeep - were beaten up by Ram Singh and his family members for casting votes to another candidate, they said.
